Magadheera - Hardwork.

Finally I managed to watch Magadheera, the most acclaimed movie of Ram Charan Teja and Rajamoil combination. Main story of Magadheeera is about rebirths. Other parts of the story are stitched to add more masala (spice) to make movie more entertaining. In that process, movie gets bored in first half. I liked flashback part of the movie. Hats off to Rajamouli and his team. It clearly shows how movie director, art director and cinematographer should work together to create wonderful movie like Magadheera.

Things I liked in Magadheera:
1. Bangaru Kodi petta song.
2. Flashback episode.
I liked the shot that shows bird's-eye view of the whole port and ground set, reminding hollywood movies.
3. RamCharan Teja's dance, acting and dialoge delivery especially in KalaBairava character.
4. Kajal character.
5. Scene where Charan catches Kajal's white chunny and follows her on horse. This scene is so professional that when Charan looks at Kajol with face covered in white chunny, you can see that as if you are looking through white chunny. I always feel that every scene should be taken in such a away that audience should feel he/she is experiencing the movie in reality.
6. Locations.

Thinks I did not like in Magadheera:
1. Music by M M Keeravani. Background score is good. But songs are not up to the mark of Chirutha.
2. In climax, hero using the same 400 year old knife to kill the villain.
3. Incomplete Bramhanandam comedy track.
4. Little boring first half.

Overall, Magadheera good to watch once kind of movie. Please watch it in theatre that has very good sound system (preferably in multiplexes) . Thanks to Maa TV channel for repeat telecast of Magadheera programs.

Charan has created sensation with his second movie. Oneway it is good for him. But he should be double careful in next movies to meet the same expectations of audience. He should work on couple of comedy movies.

Happy movie watching....

Movies Watched Recently

Last two weekends, I watched lots of movies. Here is a post with details about some of them:

Abhiyum Naanum (Tamil)
Cast: Prakash Raj, Trisha, Aishwarya

Abbiyum Naanum story about father and daughter relationship. Prakash Raj plays father role and Trisha plays daughter role. Both are apt in their characters. Movie starts with Prakash Raj telling about his daughter, from childhood to till date, to Prithviraj. He portays every scene with feel of father. Of course, he dons such kind of roles.

Following scenes I liked a lot:
- Prakash Raj preparing for school interview.
- His comedy timing while talking to headmistress.
- Explaining precautions to Trisha about how to drive cycle.
- Knowing that son-in-law is sardarji.
- Aishwarya and Prakash Raj talking about how would they live without Abhi..:-) Really heart touching.

Radhamohan directs heart-touching movies. Radhamohan and Prakash Raj combination is meant for making such kind of good movies. His choice of location - Munnar (I guess so) - is 100% apt to this kind of movies.

I felt worth watching such a very very good movie. Don't miss Abhiyum Naanum.

Adhinetha (Telugu).
Cast: Jagapati babu, Sradda Das etc.
One Liner: PA to CM.

Adhinetha is movie about an ordinary and straight forward citizen, who works as PA to Chief Minister, who understands social problems and how he becomes CM to solve the problems. Jagapati babu is appropriate choice for this kind of role. He is one good hero, he suits to any kind of role. You will see the character rather than Jagapati babu. That is real artist nature. Dialogues by Paruchuri Brothers are real and powerful. All scenes portray real world problems and how hero solves them. Samudra's direction proved again as commercial director.
The movie is really boring in between. But movie show cases how voters are vowed during elections time with money, sarees and liquor.

Overall, Adhineta is OK to watch once to know realities about politics. Of course, we had seen many movies with this back drop in history.

Ayan (Tamil) 2009

Cast & Crew:
Cast: Surya, Tamanna, Prabhu etc.
Music: Harris Jayaraj
Director: K V Anand
Production: AVM
Presentation: Sun Pictures
Category: Action, Love and Comedy

Ayan is visual feast to movie lovers and hard-core Surya fans (0f course to Tamanna fans). Surya handled Deva character very well. He is now well-established actor or artist.

Ayan is a story revolving around a character called Deva. Deva is a smuggler who works with Prabhu. Kamalesh is rival to Prabhu. Deva is so efficient that Prabhu is number one in smuggling market. Kamalesh wants to take number one position by doing all possible bad things against both of them. First half of the movie shows strengths of Deva, Prabhu and Kamalesh characters. Second half is about how Deva cracks smuggling tricks and destroys Kamalesh. At the end of the movie, Deva gets a job in Customs Department. Climax idea is borrowed from "Catch Me If You Can", where hero finally designs MICR number that is so unique that it is very difficult to forge by anybody.

Surya is apt for Deva character. I feel that he is next Kamal Hasan of Kollywood. All his disguise getups are awesome. I liked the one where he shows diamonds in his wig. His comedy timing and body language are perfect. Overall he steals the show. Tamanna plays usual character just for songs and couple of comedy and emotional scenes. Tamanna's brother character plays critical role. His dying scene is row.

Harris Jayaraj's mucis is big big asset. He capture audience attention at the beginning song (Hey raja song). Other songs are equally excellent. Background score is very good. Camera work is the biggest asset to Ayan. Every scene is rich in colors. I liked picturization of "Nenje Nenje" song. In that song, you can see sand dumes, sea shore and blue sky all in one screen. K V Anand is a great director. He mixed commercial elements - action, romance, comedy etc - in correct proportion. Dialogues are rendered like "Sujatha" style (Sujatha used to write dialogues for Shankar/Maniratnam movies. Unfortunately, he is no more). Sun Pictures' publicity for Ayan was simply superb. They pushed Ayan name into everybody's mind in all possible ways.

Overall, Ayan is pisa-vasool movie. You can watch once. I am awaiting original DVD.
