Practical Leadership Lesson from Dr. Srikumar Rao

My friend posted a video link few days back. I thought its usual practice from him to post all sorts of videos. But this video is something different, I felt. It is Leadership@Google event's video in which Dr. Srikumar Rao presented simple, practical and doable activities to improve personal effectiveness and overall our lives.

The video is available at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u20vVbhpM50&feature=player_embedded#at=16.

Prof. Rao talks about few things such as mental chatter, mental model, seeing alternative reality and constant improvement tips and tools. I quickly remembered this line from Robin Sharma's book - The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari - "What you see before you or what you see behind you is nothing more than what you see inside.". Yes, our world first gets created inside us and it manifests in out side world. For example, one day I experienced a very bad traffic in 3 places on my commute. I was frustrated and angry. And the situations and people whomever I met that day were in the same order. Later when I introspected I realized the fact. Next day, I kept my self cool and was listening my favorite number in audio system and kept telling "I am cool. I will make this day really fantastic". End of the day, I felt calm and happy moods all through the day to remember. My point is keep trying to make our lives happier. It is slow and long process. But never give-up..
With that note, I am closing this blog. If you like this post, I will be glad to see your comments.
